My first formal interview with Arun Jaitley was when I was a student of journalism and working on a dissertation on the explosion of news in India. The year was , and Mr Jaitley sat with me for over an hour putting into perspective the evolution of the news space in India.
He spoke, and I listened, trying to absorb everything that he so effortlessly and eloquently put together. That was the first of the many interviews that I would go on to do with him as I became a journalist and reported on the finance ministry, a ministry that he handled in the first term of the Modi government.
